Tele-work (also known as telecommuting) means working at home or at a satellite office or telework center one or more days a week, rather than commuting to a central office. Tele-work programs are in use worldwide, and have been shown to boost productivity, help recruit new talent, improve employee morale, save on office space and maintenance, and reduce energy and transportation costs. Resources: Telecommute Connecticut — a commuter service of the Connecticut Department of Transportation — is a comprehensive resource that helps employers design, implement and maintain a telecommuting program that enhances the bottom line and makes them an employer of choice.The United State Office of Personnel Management has developed Telework.gov, a special website for government workers and managers regarding telecommuting issues.
